CENTRAL CLUB CHALLENGE 2021
Judge: Jonathan Vaines LRPS CPAGB
11TH March 2021
Two years ago, we won this, last year we came 5th out of 9 clubs and this year 4th out of 10, so not our best night! The honours tonight again went to the hosts New City Photographic Society. The winning image went to Andy Sands of XRR PS for Slime Mould Stemonitis Splendens.
Our individual scores were as follows:
Thoughtful Roger Bradshaw 15 [18]
Supplication Hugh Spence 19 [19]
Sunflower David Scott 14 [18]
Loch Etive Ian Gostelow 19 [19]
Man’s Best Friend Mark Glenister 15 [19]
Urban Walker Roger Bradshaw 19 [20]
For interest these were the same images that did so well in the St Ives Interprint I have noted the scores from Interprint in brackets, which just illustrates how subjective these competitions are, tonight the judge was Jonathan Vaines, despite us faring less well I thought he did an excellent job in his analysis and the scoring broadly reflected his commentary. You have to admire a judge that will award a 9 in an interclub competition!
The Club scores and positions were as follows:
New City Photographic Society 110
Ampthill & District Camera Club 109
Rushden & District PS 102
Biggleswade & District Camera Club 101
Leighton Buzzard Photographic Club 100
Buckingham CC 98
Bedford Camera Club 97
XRR PS 96
St Albans 84
Luton and Dunstable 83
I counted 21 members of Biggleswade on the screen, so very well supported, a shame we didn’t fare better but hopefully you enjoyed some good images and commentary.
